Full course description
This course is designed to provide educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively teach writing to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The course focuses on evidence-based practices and strategies that support the development of writing skills in this population, emphasizing explicit and systematic instruction tailored to the unique needs of these learners. Educators will explore methods for integrating assistive technology, developing individualized writing instruction plans, and utilizing techniques such as constant time delay and sentence frames to enhance student engagement and progress.
