Counselors who use data to identify and remove barriers to postsecondary preparation courses, assist students and families in academic planning that connects postsecondary education and career goals, and ensure that all students have access to information on all processes that relate to postsecondary education and career readiness are often successful at helping students achieve their education and career goals. These types of counselor actions and interventions are necessary to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in postsecondary educational opportunities. This microcredential focuses on the counselor's/participant’s ability to plan for all aspects of college and career readiness, from providing all students access to college/career-readiness courses to planning for the financial aspects of postsecondary education.
