NDE1064: The School Counselor Pathway: Creating a Culture for Post-Secondary Success Microcredential (Counselors)

Data continues to support the value of education/training beyond high school; however, there are still many factors that act as barriers to high school students moving on to postsecondary education, some of which are a lack of understanding regarding postsecondary education options, financial aid, the application process, uncertainty on what career choices are available, and a lack of knowledge related to their own career interests. Counselors who educate and support their students in discovering their interests and aptitudes and help them through the process of applying for financial aid and completing applications can impact students in a positive and meaningful way. This microcredential focuses on a counselor/participant's ability to create a culture for post-secondary success at their school.
