Full course description

This course is appropriate for teachers and licensed personnel who work directly with students.

Choice in what and how they learn can be highly motivating for students. When provided opportunities to lead learning through questioning and research, students are often able to take ownership over their own learning, thus increasing their knowledge and understanding of the topic being studied. PBL is meant to mirror real life in many ways, and just like in real life, parameters exist. Some structure is necessary to ensure that content standards are addressed, but offering students freedom in what aspects of a topic they choose as a focus or how they illustrate their learning can have a profound impact on student engagement and outcomes. This microcredential focuses on an educator’s ability to engage students in student-centered project-based learning (PBL).
