NDE1034: NEPF Professional Responsibilities/ Educator Microcredential 3/5: PR Standard 3

This microcredential focuses on the implementation of the NEPF Teacher Professional Responsibilities Standard 3 - Professional Obligations. Professional Responsibilities Standard 3 centers around the professional obligations educators must demonstrate. In its Model Code of Ethics for Educators, adopted by Nevada’s Commission on Professional Standards in Education as the Nevada Model Code of Educator Ethics, the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) begins by stating that a professional educator is aware that trust in the profession depends upon a level of professional conduct and responsibility that may be higher than required by law (2021). Teachers are obligated to model and advocate for fair, equitable, and appropriate treatment of students and families; model integrity in all interactions with colleagues, students, families, and the community; and follow policies, regulations, and procedures specific to their roles and responsibilities.
