NDE1032: NEPF Professional Responsibilities/ Educator Microcredential 1/5: PR Standard 1

This microcredential focuses on the implementation of the NEPF Teacher Professional Responsibilities Standard 1 - Commitment to the School Community. Professional Responsibilities Standard 1 focuses on teachers demonstrating their commitment to the school community. Teachers with high levels of commitment work harder, demonstrate stronger affiliation to their schools, show more desire to carry out the goals of teaching, and, most importantly, have students that are more likely to learn material and develop a positive attitude toward school than those of teachers with low levels of commitment (Lawrence & Deepa, 2014). Teachers demonstrate their commitment to their school community by taking on active roles on instructional teams and collaborating with colleagues to improve instruction for all students; building professional cultures that support school and district initiatives; and helping cultivate safe, learning-centered school cultures and communities that maintain high expectations for all students.
