Full course description

This course is appropriate for educators and licensed personnel engage work with others in an instructional coaching role.

An instructional coaching cycle is a key tool for any effective instructional coach. An instructional coaching cycle helps the teacher or teacher team and the coach work together to set an instructional goal, enact plans to make progress toward the goal, monitor and collect data as coaching/teaching/learning takes place, and then reflect on the process. Following a coaching cycle doesn't mean that coaching actions are static; they can still change based on student and educator needs. Contingent on the needs of the teacher, modeling, co-teaching, observation, team planning, and reflection are often employed. Following an instructional coaching cycle helps coaches meet the needs of those they coach and helps educators grow their practice and reach their instructional goals. This microcredential focuses on the ability of an instructional coach to provide high-quality, intentional coaching based on an instructional coaching cycle.
