NDE1014: Feedback Pathway 6/6: Creating a Culture of Feedback Microcredential
Self-paced
Full course description
This course is designed for classroom teachers. Educators who have completed NDE Feedback Microcredentials 1009, 1010, 1011, 1012, and 1013 may apply any lessons from those microcredentials toward fulfilling the requirements of 1014.
A feedback-friendly culture is dependent on an atmosphere of safety and trust. The educator is responsible for creating and maintaining this culture. In a classroom with a culture of feedback, one should see learners feeling confident and safe as they request feedback to improve their understanding, receive constructive feedback from either peers or educators, and act on feedback in such a way that their performance is improved. Students learn self-reflection, social, and collaboration skills in classrooms where a variety of feedback types are central in daily activities. This microcredential focuses on an educator's ability to create a classroom atmosphere where students and teachers regularly share and receive feedback that fosters academic and social growth.
