Full course description
This course is appropriate for classroom teachers and licensed personnel who work directly with students.
When students understand how to reflect on their learning and self-monitor their progress, a growth mindset emerges and academic success, even in difficult subjects, becomes possible. Teaching the skill of self-reflection to students will ensure they are able to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, trace their personal achievements and failures, and evaluate their own learning to determine if they need additional help to achieve academic growth. Additionally, students often feel a powerful sense of personal achievement when they find success through self-monitoring and acting on their reflective understanding to achieve a goal. This microcredential focuses on educators' understanding of the importance of fostering reflection and self-monitoring in all students in order to help them achieve academic and personal growth.
